About SCNO

Symphony Chorus of New Orleans ... making a difference in the lives of our singers, our audience, and our community through the power and beauty of choral singing.

We make a difference by…

  • volunteering our services as the Principal Chorus of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra to perform the great choral-orchestral masterworks;
  • producing concerts on our own and in collaboration with organizations like the Thursdays at Twilight Series in City Park and the Trinity Artist Series;
  • collaborating with the area’s arts and non-profits organizations on a variety of musical and civic projects;
  • reaching out to public, private, and parochial schools, colleges and universities with diverse programs like our annual Singers of United Lands residency and Choral Workshop;
  • celebrating the unique musical culture of New Orleans through projects like Wardell Quezergue’s A Creole Mass and Rob Kapilow’s This New, Immense, Unbounded World.
